We have taken the current list of Foodstuffs with current European Union (EU) restrictions and highlighted the ones affecting Africa and African food choices. We highlight rice products from China and Okra from Vietnam because they form popular parts of many African dishes.

Specific products not of animal origin are currently under harmonised controls in the EU that control their importation from specific non- EU countries.

Feed and food consigned or originating from Japan with the exception of products which left Japan before 28 March 2011 and personal imports.
